Air Combat Zone Silent Auction Result

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010

It seems that modellers would rather build scale aircraft than fly them in simulated combat.

After looking at the entries in the ACZ silent auction bin, it was found that the reserve bid was not met. As a result, the prize of a pack of four tickets to fly the CF-18 simulators at Air Combat Zone will not be awarded.

Winners’ List is up!

If you want to see who won what award at LSMS 2010, be sure to check out our 2010 Winners page! There’s both a .pdf form and a table printed.

Congratulations to all winners!

A hearty “Thank you” and “Great work” to all those who brought out kits for display as well.  It was a super show and everyone was impressed with the kits on display.

Remember; every completed kit is a good kit!

I hope everyone will be back in 2012!

Now YOU can fly like a pro!!

The show keeps getting closer; it’s only a week away.

The news keeps getting BETTER!

Now, in addition to the full vendors’ room, great raffle table, free kits for junior entrants and representation by local military history groups, LSMS 2010 has something else to wow you with:

Drumroll Please….

It is with great pride that I announce the Air Combat Zone Silent Auction!

Thanks to the great folks at Air Combat Zone, there will be a chance to win a flight simulation experience for 4 people at the ACZ facility.

Have you ever wanted to fly and fight in an F-18? Well, chances are this is the closest most of us are ever going to get! Air Combat Zone offers simulator training and “flight time” as well as dogfighting experience at the controls of realistic CF-18 simulators.

It rocks, trust us.

Bring your thinking caps and be ready to submit a bid in our Air Combat Zone silent auction on show day. Check out the link above for more details!

Remember, you have to be there to bid, and you have to bid to win.

I guess that means we’ll see you all there, right?

Junior Builders get a free kit!

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

We at IPMS London, like many out there, believe that our hobby only gets better and stronger when young folk take up knives and glue and get into the great world of modelling that we all love.

In order to encourage the growth of the hobby, we feel it is IMPERATIVE to support and encourage ALL junior modellers.

Thus, we here at LSMS 2010 and IPMS London are very pleased to once again offer a free kit to our junior contest entrants (16 years old or less)!

We did this in 2008, and it was a great success. So, since it wasn’t broken, we didn’t fix it!

While supplies last, every junior who enters one or more kits into the competition will get a ticket which they can redeem for a free kit of their choosing. The IPMS London club info table will have a veritable stack of kits for juniors to choose from. While you pick up your free kit, you can also learn a bit more about IPMS London; you can’t lose!

So, make sure that you get to the show and get your kit registered early so you can get your pick of a free kit while there’s still plenty left. We hope there’s enough for everyone, but we can’t guarantee it. So, early bird gets the worm!

Vendors’ Room is FULL! Action’s going to be HOT!

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

You heard it here first, folks!

The vendors’ room for LSMS 2010 is officially full!

We’ve got 27 different vendors occupying 65 tables! That’s a tonne and a half of sprue, glue, books, decals, tools and everything-else-you-can-imagine, all in one handy place!

If there’s something you’ve been searching for, or even if you don’t know what you want exactly (but will know it when you see it), then you NEED to get to the show as early as possible and get yourself into our vendors’ area.

We’ve also got our Raffle Table set up in there, plus an IPMS London and AMPS-SWO information table.  You can also meet some people from the Jet Aircraft Museum, the RCR Museum and 427 Squadron; all of these groups are to have displays and sales tables set up in the vendors’ room too.

So, as you can see, there will be lots to see and do while the judging is going on from 1:00 until 3:30.

Don’t be late,  and don’t forget your wallets!

The folks at LSMS 2010 want to thank all of our vendors. If you’ve booked your tables then we are looking forward to seeing you. If you haven’t booked them yet, we apologize, but it is too late to fit in anyone else.
