Calling all judges!

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Well, the London show is only a month and a few days away!

That having been said, we at LSMS 2010 are putting out an appeal for judging help!

It is a tradition at most shows that visitors with expertise in a particular area help out with the judging.

If you’re going to be at the London Show and are willing to help us judge, please, send an email to lsms.sponsors.info@gmail.com. Let us know what area you want to help in.

If you are entered in a particular subcategory (say A1) but not the whole category (i.e. not everything in the “A” listing) then you can still help us out; you just abstain from judging any subcategory you’re entered in.

Thanks, in advance, for all your help!

MORE awesome stuff for Raffle!

Sunday, August 29th, 2010

Well, the raffle table at the show keeps getting better.

Many thanks to Borgfeldt for some great kits, as well as West Coast Hobbies for a pair of Czechmaster Resin Spitfire kits.

These aren’t your normal spits, though! These are SIGNED kits, and the signature comes from none other than Wing Commander James Francis “Stocky” Edwards (DFC bar, DFM, MID, Order of Canada).

Now THAT’S a box you DON’T want to throw out when your done building the kit!

So remember, bring enough to buy lots of raffle prize tickets – there’s a lot to ask Lady Luck to give you a hand with!

Check out some Theme Awards!

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Thanks to our A-1 awards designer, you can now see a couple of examples of our theme awards in the Theme Awards section.

These great looking awards really bring out the 80′s in all of us; go get in on the time warp!

Don’t forget to read the clarification below the awards. If you’re not sure that your kit fits in with the theme, I think you’ll find your answer there.

Also, as a note: Theme awards are open to ALL SCALES!!

A Change to Note

Friday, August 20th, 2010

The show keeps getting closer with each day, and things are starting to come together.

However, there is an important change to note.

Today, I heard from the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association (CHAA) that, due to unforseen circumstances, they will not be able to offer a back seat ride as a prize for Category A17 (Best RCAF aircraft).

Both the members of CHAA and the London Scale Model show were disappointed in this, but this is an unfortunate reality when dealing with vintage aircraft.

The category, however, will still be included, and sponsored by CHAA, so keep working on that RCAF bird; you’ve got just over a month!
